LL Guatemala Mexico Annual conference

After the assembly, we also stayed on to hold our annual team conference for Latin Link Guatemala Mexico. We were all a bit exhausted - but it was good to consider all that we´d learnt in the Assembly and how we could put it into practice in Guatemala and Mexico.
We also elected leadership team. I stood down from the role of team leader, so that I can focus my time more on mission mobilisation. And it was fantastic to hand over the role to Kate, who is already doing a great job!

Assembly Madness!!

It´s been a busy couple of months.
The International Assembly of Latin Link, which happens every 4 years, was held here in Guatemala a couple of weeks ago.
That meant that the team here and myself were very busy with preparations and logistics for about a month beforehand, but it all turned out well and was a fantastic event.
Every 4 years, representatives of all the Latin Link teams get together to make decisions together and learn from one another. This time, we were 150 people, along with many friends of ours from Latin America Mission Canada. Here´s the obligatory group photo.
It was a great time together. We heard devotionals based on 2 Timothy, and worshipped in several different languagegs. The main sessions inspired and challenged us to look at different aspects of missions today - and tomorrow. We also had times for training, and friendship, and football! And to encourage the younger leaders amongst us.

Despite it being a lot (A LOT) of work, I really enjoyed it - for me the International Assemblies are always a great expression of our unity and diversity - of our passion for the gospel and desire to communicate it in relevant ways wherever we are. I love that we are a community with a calling!
